From the hottest nightclubs and low-key lounges to sexy new wine bars and gritty neighborhood dives, find the best spots for boozin', cruisin' and dancing the night away in Los Angeles.

First Round: Bar and Club Openings

Look here for brand-new places to drink and dance in Los Angeles.
  1. Versus L.A. Nightclub

618 South Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA
Forget the stock market slump--it's all about the bump and thump at Downtown L.A.'s former Stock Exchange Building where a major facelift has transformed it into a tri-level 35,000-square-foot temple to excess. After all, who wants reality when there's VIP?

  2. Bardot

    1737 Vine St, Hollywood, CA
The exclusive hideaway formerly known as Spider Club crawls back into the limelight with a nod to the Roaring '20s and a super-exclusive vibe--even the access is private and secure ... hidden to the uninvited, a welcome sanctuary to those who know.

  3. 24K Lounge

7929 Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, CA
With the cost of gold on the rise, you'd think this sort of place would be the last to crop up in town. Then again, this ain't just any town. The space formerly known as Seven steps up the flash with walls painted in $100 per gallon gold paint and gold-digging scenesters hoping to hook up wtih someone able to drop $100 for a gold martini.

  4. Apple Lounge

665 N Robertson Blvd, West Hollywood, CA
Only open three nights a week, this exclusive East Coast import is giving WeHo scenesters a juicy bite of the Big Apple ... that is, if you're a friend of the owner or your life is chronicled in the pages of Us Weekly.

  5. Mission Cantina

5946 W Sunset Blvd, Hollywood, CA
Just a shot glass away from the Delancey (which is owned by the same guy), this Sunset Boulevard bar might look like a church, but it's actually a temple to all things tequila. Add tasty street food and a laidback scene and in no time you'll be praying to the gods of agave.

  6. ADCB

8440 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA
Now that the Mondrian has had a little facelift (and isn't afraid to admit it, thank you very much), the lobby has welcomed a brand new lounge for haute Hollywood types looking for exotic martinis and fusion tapas ... without the velvet rope.

  7. Upper Manhattan Lounge

3600 Highland Ave, Manhattan Beach, CA
Sin City has hit the South Bay with this burlesque lounge (nightly cabaret shows!) that pairs the martini-drenched bars of Vegas with Hollywood's past haunts.

  8. Hush Lounge

6533 Hollywood Blvd Unit 111, Hollywood, CA
Velvet underground: This swanky subterranean Hollywood speakeasy retains the golden elegance and clubby glam scene of the city's gilded past. Their brand-new Prohibition Live Jazz Sundays offer $3 organic martinis, half-off bottle service and the best freakin' jazz this side of the Mississippi.

  9. ABH at Thompson Beverly Hills

9360 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA
Who wouldn't want to sip a frozen guava margarita alongside a Swarovski-lined pool? Now part of the same hotel family as the Roosevelt, this rooftop hot spot is bringing in the same trendoids and exclusive 'tude of the Tropicana Bar.

  10. Ecco Ultra Lounge

1640 N Cahuenga Blvd, Hollywood, CA
Can, ummm ... waterless urinals be sexy? Proving that energy-efficient doesn't mean style-deficient, this "green" Cahuenga Corridor playground is the only place in Los Angeles where you can get down and dirty and still save the environment.

Second Round: Nightlife News

Get the latest news on renovations, reopenings and new concepts at old standbys.
  1. The Edison

108 West 2nd Street, Los Angeles, CA
Get a 1910 martini at a 1910 price: Every Thursday from 5pm to 7pm imbibers can get a handcrafted 35-cent martini at this super swanky Downtown L.A. subterranean haunt.

  2. Cafe Wa s

    1521 Vine St, Hollywood, CA
Leave it to Mr. Forty Deuce himself to come up with "flask service." Those willing to shell out anywhere from $58 to $72 can choose from well-known spirits like Bacardi Light, Cuervo Gold, Dewar’s White Label, Jack Daniels, Smirnoff or Southern Comfort to arrive alongside half carafe mixers, in signature brown bags. Note to the thrill seeker: glasses are optional.

  3. Equator Restaurant & Bar

    22 Mills Pl, Pasadena, CA
Old Town Pasadena's former coffee house is now a chic, Eastern-inspired lounge and bar. Monday through Friday from 5pm-11pm is when to hit the bar for burgers, sandwiches and the popular microbrew "Beer Stacks" with nothing much more than $10.
