I have been going to Taboo since it first opened. I believe that I have had my hair cut by many of the stylists, Esther being one of them. She was amazing!!!! One of the best cuts I have had in a very long time!!!! I actually fly to LA from NY a few times a year to get my hair colored by Robert, who is amazing, probably one of the best in the world, but Aaron and Ernie are great themselves... I also have my haircut as well... I would trust about all the stylists there... And best of all is the big smile and great greeting you receive from Gina, the salon manager!! A great trendy warm atmosphere, with an amazing array of people to help you look your BEST!!!!

I had to wait for a while to see how i i am gonna feel about my hair, but everytime the feeling is the same. I dont like the cut! this is the first time in a long time that i hate my hair style. Esther, my hairdresser, didint listen well to what i wanted and even didint deliver what she suggested. the layers are not proportinal at all, i have a part of my hair that is not in any way related to the other part ( big gap between layers). overall, she is not experienced enough to face more challenges, she only cuts what she knows and doesnt think or create more then that. I think the people at sueprcut or fantastic sam would do a better job!or even those salons in downtown LA for only 7$; the cut that she did for me is very average and has lots of "holes" in it...... I've been to a lot of salons from federic feccai to Fresno Salons, to France Salons, and this one is not worth the price nor loosing inches of your hair for nothing..... good luck with Esther, you'll need it.

Pros: they take cash?!

Cons: no parking and if you have too much hair, she'll let you know about it i na negative way not a compliment.

I live in the area and needed a new salon that was close, affordable, and most of all, could cut long hair really well. BEST EXPERIENCE since I've been in LA! My hair has never looked this great before- ask for Deshani, she's amazing with cut! I'm considering going back for a color- if I do, she'll def be doing it! Kudos!

Pros: Affordable, great staff, friendly

Cons: Nada!

I HAVE followed Emily because she is the best razor cutter in this town - if you have poker straight, thin hair and want volume, a great cut, texture, style - fun - she is the person! I have been everywhere in town and she's the best!

There is nothing stuffy or uncomfortable about Taboo Hair Salon. Rather it feels as if you have entered a friend's cozy home and she just happens to be styling your hair over a cup of tea! I have been going to Emily for at least a decade now and have enjoyed each fresh, new look. She is fantastically creative and very intuitive about the change you REALLY need but can't always articulate. The end result never disappoints. If you are looking for an easy, breezy salon, try Taboo. If you are looking for a great new stylist and fantastic conversation, try Emily at Taboo.

Pros: Friendly, comfortable atmosphere

Cons: Parking, but the Salon does put quarters in your meeting!

TABOO was recommended to me by a friend when I first came to LA and fate dropped me into Emily's talented and caring hands. Almost 20 years later she still delivers the best mens cut in town. The salon and staff have always been inviting, courteous and professional: if you're looking to be impressed by pretension, MOVE ON! With its relaxed atmosphere, TABOO still remains one of my favorite places to escape to. Great cuts - great people. Check them out. You won't be disappointed!

Pros: Talented cutters & relaxing atmosphere

Cons: Haven't had a CON yet!

Ok- I have been going here forever and Emily (cut) and Ernie (color) save my life They cut hair and color my grey and make me feel like I don't need therapy. Not only are they amazingly talented, but they are sweet, friendly, put money in your meter and you've never looked better. On occasion I have had to go elsewhere and have always regretted it. GO NOW!!!! Susannah

Emily is a kick-ass stylist who knows how to turn your hair from frumpy into fabulous! She has been cutting my hair for over 10 years, and I always leave the salon feeling happy and looking glam. Emily knows hair!

I've been going to Taboo for many years and have always been very satisfied with the work and the service. In particular, Emily is a tremendous stylist and is able to cut my problematic hair just the way I like it. She is precise and careful with every cut....and lots of fun and laughs in the process. Everyone at the salon, especially the owners, Robert and Gill, are friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Taboo!
