User Reviews for RAYA European Day Spa

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

My daughter raved about her experiences at raya. A lot of her friends are regular customers, and they recommended the spa to her. Everyone thinks that it is the best day spa in Los Angeles. My daughter has been coming for the last year, and she swears by their products. I had a European facial with Lena this morning. She was delightful - extremely professional. I just loved the results. My skin feels fabulous, and it is glowing!!! I am planning on using some of their other services in the future. Although I live in San Diego, I definitely will schedule my next facial appointment when I visit my daughter in West Hollywood. I loved everything about the spa!!! Everyone that I met was courteous and warm. Nan

Pros: Everything was Top Notch!!!

Cons: None

I was very pleased with my experience at Raya. I had a facial and a bikini wax. Both were very professional, my face feels and looks great. The wax was less painful than my previous place and with great results. The rooms are clean, modern and the prices are great. Its especially important for those of us who are regular goers.

Pros: Great place for services

I have been going to Raya for 2 years and its definitely the best facial salon around. For years I had problem skin and now its beautiful and clear. I tried so many other skin treatments, but their facials and products really helped my skin. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxing and friendly.

Pros: Clean, professional, affordable and caring

Cons: none

This place looks clean, seems friendly enough, probably good at other services, but by god, do NOT go here for a bikini wax. especially do NOT go with a woman named CARMELLA. Never in my life have i been treated so poorly and gotten a worse waxing job. I came in to the room and she said "you know what to do, lets make this quick" verbatim. first of all. its a SPA. I was so confused that she was standing there waiting for me to take my clothes off, she clapped her hands yelling " come on what are you waiting for!" THEN she proceeded to rip away hair WITHOUT following standard waxing procedure, she barely pressed down on the strip or waited for the warm wax to set, resulting in very painful waxing, and a very splotchy job. I couldn't believe that was happening. and THEN she proceeded to say, " next time come on time." I was on time, except i had to wait around in the garage for a nonexistent parking attendant. She said that multiple times as she repeatedly put the used strip back on and reusing the used part on the splotchy area - ripping the same spot over and over again. I dont know how they train their people, but you should know, NOT to dunk the same waxing stick that got used into the wax jar, thats disgustingly unhygienic. AND not to restick and wax using the same used wax on the strip, talk about cheap and unhygienic. She then looked at the poor job she did and said " your skin is too sensitive, the hair is not coming off, and i could tweeze it but it will hurt you, so i wont." not only did she refuse to fix the poor job she did, she blamed ME for it! I left with red, bleeding pores, a lapful of powder that she dumped on me and a "leave the door open on your way out" as she left the room. Did i mention it hurt and is now red and rashy. Count your lucky stars you don't leave with an infection from the unhygienic and unprofessional service. Im never coming here again. I can't believe it got best brazillian vote on citysearch.

Pros: appears clean

Cons: is very unhygienic, unfriendly, the worst spa experience i have ever had EVER

I decided to give a shot this place because of good reviews. I went there for facial but the esthetician was very hard on my face even I told I have very sensitive skin. Her facial massage was terrible. Also, the whole time she was talking about products and the money of their other services made me uncomfortable. I am really addicted to cosmetic products and I always end up by buying something, but here I did not even listen about products because I felt she just wanted to sell me some products. This place is very clean and cheap but my face is more important than anything.

Pros: Clean, Easy parking

Cons: Very noisy,Uneducated staff

I've struggled with my skin for years. When I was a teenager, I was on accutane, which cleared up my skin for a few years. But now that I'm an adult, I get extra frustrated with my breakouts. I've tried everything, including expensive dermatologist visits. One of my girlfriends who also suffered from bad behaving skin showed up at an event one night with beautiful, glowing, clear skin. I was so shocked. I asked her what the heck she'd been doing because I'd never seen her skin look like that. She said she had been getting facials, once a month, at Raya. I booked my appointment the next day and have been so thrilled. Connie is sweet and does an excellent job. She has really made my skin beautiful again. For the first time in my life, people compliment me on my skin. I have to say, that is the best $67 I've ever spent.

Pros: Connie, great prices

I have had several facials at Raya Spa and I keep coming back. Their friendly staff put you at ease as soon as you walk in the door. The environment of the spa is super relaxing and authentic. The facials are amazing. They really look at your skin and customize a facial just for you. They also explain each step for you if you are interested, so you know all the wonderful things they are doing to your skin.

I've been coming to Raya for my bikini waxing for over a year. Though this procedure can hardly be pleasant, this is the best place I've found for waxing. Their wax and the technique used makes the Brazilian much less painful, and it's quicker, too. I appreciate the kindness and professionalism of the specialists who perform it. The location couldn't be better for me. I like the atmosphere of the place, because it is friendly and unpretentious. I think their products are great as well.

Pros: PRICES, PARKING

Cons: NONE

I decided to try Raya out because I saw they were voted number one on Citysearch by the users. The spa itself is nice, but the brazilian wax was not. Just so you know, this was not my first time getting one. I've been getting them for over a year and a half and have never had a complaint about them. First of all, the wax was way too hot. I tried to tell the esthetician and she just said that was how it was supposed to be. When she was pulling the wax off, it was painful which I have never experienced before. She pulled it really slow and on top of it, went over each area more than once. She also left wax all over my legs and instead of cleaning it off, she just threw baby powder over it. Since it had dried, it took forever to remove. And to top it all off, she didn't even get off all of the hair! I know that usually you will have some stray hairs here and there, but no, she left patches of hair. So in the end, I walked away burned, bruised and still had to shave on top off it because there was too much hair to just pluck. Never again.

Pros: Parking was easy, price was affordable

Cons: Service was horrible

I recently took a friend's recommendation and tried Raya Spa for the first time. I loved it! Peaceful, relaxing, professional environment. I highly recommend! The overall quality of their services, and their products, and the caring and experienced staff. I was looking for a good spa ...I found a great one.

Pros: very clean and modern

Cons: none
