I love Carlos, always professional, never a bad cut. Plus he has a great personality which always helps.

Pros: I always leave the salon in the BEST MOOD.

Cons: Meter parking on Robertson can be difficult.

I found Carlos on city search and was so happy with my experience. His coloring was amazing and it was the first time I've truly loved the way my hair turned out. The salon was great and everyone was really friendly. Carlos is so nice and definitely knows his stuff. I told him to do what he wants and I'm glad I did. Having gone to many expensive salons and got mediocre service this was just the opposite. His prices are so reasonable and his coloring was much better than the others I've been to! Definitely recommend him!!

What a great hair cut I got! I went to Carlos because of the reviews I found on citysearch, and I was not disappointed. I think my hair is difficult to do a good job on because I usually get bad hair cuts, and I go to pretty nice places. But Carlos listened to what I wanted, told me what he was thinking and what he was going to do, and gave me a great shape of hair. He was friendly, wasn't at all mad that I was late, and easily represented the easy going but busy atmosphere of the salon. The thing is though, he did a good job of styling my hair at the end, which I could not successfully pull off at home, it basically needed to be a little shorter. I called him after it had already been a couple days, and he had me come in so that he could take a little more off. He was totally cool about it and just as friendly as he was before. He didn't charge me, of course, and I practically had to stick the tip into his hand to get him to take just a little something for his time. And, my hair looked amazing! $55 for a haircut is a little pricey for me, but not when I get something that looks as good as what he did. I can't wait til my hair grows out and I need another haircut, because it feels SO GOOD when he's done with you and sends you off into the world looking so damn good! DO NOT GO TO THIS STYLIST IF YOU WANT A BAD HAIR CUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I just wanted to put something in all caps followed by an army of exclamation points.

Pros: Awesome stylist, comfortable atmosphere.

Cons: Its not free. Wouldn't THAT be cool?

I've been a client of Carlos' for a few years now and I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed. He always seems to know how to cut my hair (which can be quite unruly sometimes). And I trust him completely. If I don't know what I want, I defer to him and he gives me something fantastic. And I never have the problem of it not looking as good the next day when I style it myself. I went to a lot of (overpriced) stylists in L.A. until I found Carlos and never felt I got my money's worth. That all changed once I found Carlos - great haircuts & coloring at a reasonable price!

Pros: reasonable pricing, great haircuts

I have to admit the first time Carlos and I met was a total fluke. I happened to be having a martini at the Abby on Santa Monica and saw this amazing guy with a beautiful figure. No, it wasn't Carlos,although Carlos is a very handsome young man,it happened to be one of his clients who works at the Abby. Wow,what an amazing hair cut. I had to ask "Where did you get your hair cut?".The young man responded back to me in shock that i was asking him this crazy question..but didn't hesitate to give me directions to where the Cottage was, and to ask for Carlos. I immediately tossed back my martini and went in search for this place called the cottage, to find the hair stylist I would end up becoming best friends with and having my hair styled and cut from forever. I actually lived in Miami at the time and was on vacation in LA trying to pick up guys. Well--with the hair I was slinging around--no one wanted to talk to me....BUT I finally found the Cottage and also Carlos.He greeted me with open arms--even though I am sure he was thinking-WOW-what a messed up hair cut I had!!!He sat me down with a glass of water and a magazine while he managed to squeeze me in during one of his color treatments he was doing on a petite yet fabulous lady.Oh boy-was I ready for this cut. My hair was kinda shaggy-no direction-and very hard to maintain.I was in need of a cut that was above the rest..And I certainly got it. Carlos not only gave me a fabulous hair cut..but he also introduced me to a wonderful Machine that I use almost every day.THE FLAT IRON:) Oh-How magically it turned my hair from southern hick boy, into Hot LA Stud! Thank you Carlos--You are not only a wonderful hair stylist, but also have become a wonderful friend. If anyone is tired of there old hair cut, nasty attitude salon, or just want to try something new..I would highly recommend Carlos at the Cottage as my only suggestion. I strongly recommend going to Carlos for your hair-cutting & styling needs. Unlike most stylists out there, Carlos is extremely warm and friendly. He listens to your needs, and determines the best strategy to get you the look you want. In additional to the pleasant atmosphere, Carlos does not charge an “arm & a leg”. He is very affordable and reasonable. You will be impressed with his skills. My hair has never looked better. Thanks Carlos….

My daughter brought me to Carlos 10 years ago after I had complained about my dated hairstyle. I needed something new and different so let Carlos give me a new style. I have been having him style my hair ever since then and it looks fabulous and very youthful. I have a short haircut and when he cuts my hair, he is very confident and gives the client the feeling that he knows what he is doing. I have to travel to The Cottage from the South Bay area which is an hour long drive, but it is worth it. Thank you, Carlos!!!

Carlos is a godsend for hair. I found him a year ago after deciding that I needed a change and I could not be happier. He put life, glow and style into my long and curly hair and I am thrilled with how great my hair feels, even after spending a lot of time swimming and in the outdoors. He's just a magician with hair and does a fabulous job with his other clients as well, whether they have long or short hair, or need extensions. He listens to what you say and works within your parameters, all the while giving you a great look. Nobody ever leaves his chair unhappy! And now that he's in the San Francisco Bay Area/Silicon Valley every 6 weeks, scheduling regular appointments is easy. Carlos is just terrific and anybody that really cares about their hair should definitely call him!!!

Thank you carlos! I have been using Carlos for over a year and a half. He has proven to be a great stylist and I wouldnt go anywhere else! Two weeks ago i went in not knowing exactly what I wanted to do with my cut, I had a few ideas and we talked about them for a few minutes and he gave me his personal opinion on what he thought would look GREAT. I went with his suggestion and I could not have been HAPPIER! Carlos takes his time and is honest with his opinion. You wont be disappointed....

Basically my hairstylist fell off the face of the earth. I was in need of someone new. I found Carlos! Thank you universe for letting my old stylist go and letting this one in. Carlos has been a breath of fresh air. My style is current and I get so many compliments. I'm finally that person who gets compliments on my hair! Thanks again Carlos...I will see you in 6 weeks!

Pros: Compliments from total strangers on how good your hair looks

Cons: Your crazy if you don't check this man out!
