In Short
This home built in 1894 was moved to Heritage Square in 1973 from its original Santa Monica location near the old Miramar Hotel. Dark wood fixtures and armoires, candlelit nooks and bookshelves stacked with antique tomes fill the two-story showpiece. Front and back patios shaded by trees decorated with twinkling lights are also a feature. Full catering and bar service are available including brunch, lunch, dinner and cocktail spreads, which can be served sit-down or buffet style.

Besides having a great cafe, The Victorian offers a take-out menu, corporate catering and special event menus. I have used all 3 services - the best on the westside! We tried their Thanksgiving to-go "sides" this year: amazing corn chowder, cornbread stuffing with cranberries, cranberry sauce with ginger, sweet potatoes with brown sugar & pecans, beet salad with goat cheese, green beans with fried shallots & hazelnuts (is your mouth watering yet?!) and a scrumptious pumpkin bundt cake with chocolate frosting. All I did was bake my turkey and set the table (they probably would do that too!). Someone at the table said "why would I ever stress about cooking these meals again? I'll just order from them for my holiday dinner and parties!". Very affordable and very nice people! In this economy when everyone is watching money, I really don't think you can make most of the dishes for less if you factor in your own time! Its a pleasure to compliment a great service...and I am usually a picky customer!

We looked at at least 20 places for our wedding. We walked in & I know at once, this was the spot for us to get married. And the price was no higher then any of the other places in the area that we looked at. They staff could not have been nicer with all our questions that we had. They did everything we asked. The evening went wonderfully. The day before when we got there for the rehearsal they had out a little bit of food out & water, & ice tea to drink. The food was out of this world. The hors d'oeuvres were great. Not a drop left on the dinner plates. The cake!!! OH MY GOSH!! CAn you say HEVEN!! The best. and I do not like chocolate cake. We did the chocolate cake, with the topper being carrot cake covered with the chocolate frosting. And it made the flowers pop, as that is how the cake was decorated. There was NO cake left over for us to take besides the topper & that was wonderful a year later. And the photos.. Just wonderful wonderful background. All of the pictures were picture perfect. From the front of the Victorian to the inside. One of the other things I really liked best is that ours was the only event going on so the staff was there for us & not focused on the next event or another events going on.
