The Scene
The understated, Japanese-inspired interior provides a comfortable perch from which to enjoy stunning ocean views. With the umbrella-dotted patio cantilevered over the cliff, diners feel surrounded by water and sky. The main room boasts abstract nudes, rich wooden details and subdued lighting from hanging shell lamps. The bar area is more intimate, with tables for two. Service is friendly and efficient, with a subtle casualness that fits the beachside location.
The Food
With Chef Joachim Weritz (ex-Patina catering) at the helm, the flavors match the view. Refreshing tuna tartare on a bed of sesame-laden seaweed comes wittily shaped like a cat-food tin, but tasting of prime catch of the day, as does the classic shrimp cocktail. Entrees push international and culinary boundaries, like the grilled salmon, which pairs the crisp, delicate fish with citrus-infused couscous. For dessert, the baked Fuji apple is packed with spiced fruits and nuts.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoWhen arriving after nightfall, watch for the blue-neon sign on the ocean side of PCH--the restaurant can be difficult to spot otherwise.
ParkingYou can self park in the small side lot, or valet in front--either way, it's $3.50. There's free street parking on the opposite side of PCH, but crossing the busy street can be dangerous.

Sunday brunch here is easily the most amzing on PCH. Order the heck out of their mimosas and the lobster omelette. Need I say more?
Pros: Everything
Cons: The valet wait is sometimes long when large crowds come in, but the valet service is excellent.

Moonshaddows will authorize your account for up up to 3 time the value of the purchase. I had some drinks there last week, and the billed me $60, when i signed for $58, and THEN they authorized my account for $175! This meant that I was unable to access $175 in funds for over 5 days. That's just not kosher in my books.
