Editorial Review for Hollywood & Highland – by Mar Yvette
In Short
Attracting more than 15 million visitors each year, this enormous complex lures both tourists and locals looking for entertainment in the form of shopping, dining, dancing, movies and, of course, lots and lots of people watching. With the historic Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Hollywood Walk of Fame and Kodak Theatre (home of the Academy Awards) anchoring the sprawling block, the five-story center features some 60 shops, a handful of mainstream restaurants, (California Pizza Kitchen, for instance), a central courtyard, the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel and the newly opened Spa Luce. Love it or not, this towering attraction adds just a bit of consumption-based glamour to Tinseltown's world-famous, gritty boulevard.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoYour visit wouldn't be complete without a visit to the adjacent Grauman's Chinese Theater. Check out the cement handprints and footprints in the forecourt, where you can measure up against the likes of Charlie Chaplin, Al Pacino and more than 200 other celebrities.
The ExtrasCan't wait to mail that postcard? There is a US post office next to the Renaissance hotel, open Mon-Sat from 10am to 6pm.
ParkingThere are parking garages surrounding--as well as beneath--the complex. Entrances are on Highland Avenue and Orange Avenue. There is $5 valet parking within the parking structure. Otherwise, rates are $2.00 for up to 4 hours with validation from shops, restaurants, cinemas and nightclubs. The parking structure is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

D'lush is a high energy beverage known for its smoothies, donuts, teas, and slushes. I totally recommend the slushes that are filling and very tasty. The service is incredible as they are expedient and personable. Be honest, because they will not let you leave until you are satisfied with the taste of your drink.

I don't know why so many have complained about the parking, as every time i have been there parking is not a problem at all. I do agree it is hard to find your way around despite the "layout" board. it seems a bit like a maze where you think you are going one place and then end up right back where you started. The Coldstone ice cream always sems to run out of many flavors at least on the weekends so i wouldnt advise that place--if you are looking for a bargain i doubt you will find it, but it is a pretty place to see at least just once.
Cons: Filled with "to expensive stores"
